Planning the Proposal
Fabian and Dayana had a marriage proposal unlike most: onboard a helicopter, flying over Rio de Janeiro at the most beautiful hour of the day, just before sunset.
The flight took off from HeliRio Táxi Aéreo's helipad in Recreio dos Bandeirantes and crossed over the city as the sun started to dip toward the horizon. Still in the air, Fabian reached for the small box holding an emerald ring and asked the question, with Dayana beside him, seatbelt on and headset still in place, completely caught off guard.
The Moment They Said Yes
Back at the helipad, the couple was welcomed by a lit up "Marry Me?" sign and a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate. Right there, among the hangars and parked helicopters, came the hug, the kiss and the first photos as an engaged couple.
This is the kind of surprise marriage proposal that skips the obvious script: private, high above the city, with all of Rio as the backdrop and no one else around. A different way to hold on to that moment forever.
