Sunset Sailboat Marriage Proposal in Rio de Janeiro: Gabi & Junior’s Story

They flew in from Belém, Brazil, to spend a few special days in the city, but what Gabi didn’t know was that Junior had a surprise up his sleeve. After 10 years together, he decided it was time to take the next step — and he wanted the proposal to be unforgettable.

That’s when he found me. We talked, shared ideas, and he chose one of the experiences I offer for surprise proposals in Rio: a private sailboat at sunset. The idea? A romantic ride through the Guanabara Bay with the city’s iconic skyline all around — and the perfect setup for a “YES”.

To make it truly a surprise, I planned every detail with him. When they arrived at the marina, Gabi believed it was just a regular sailing tour, and that I — along with my team — were just other passengers. She had no idea the boat was actually reserved just for them.

We set sail in the golden hour. As the city slowly lit up behind us, I helped Junior choose the perfect moment to pop the question. The sea was calm, the light was magical, and the view of Sugarloaf Mountain created the dreamiest backdrop.

And then… he asked.

It was emotional, sincere, and absolutely beautiful. Her reaction said it all.

After the big moment, we enjoyed the rest of the ride and captured it all in a stunning engagement photoshoot on board. The colors, the light, the joy — everything was just perfect.
